Today's rant:
People who like anime and think they speak Japanese.

Okay, if you don't speak Japanese, don't pretend to. It's quite a common problem among anime fans- "Ooo that's kawaii!"
"Gomen!" "Sugoi!" "sayonara" (it's technically sayoUnara, and it's only used in cases where you are saying goodbye for a long time or forever.)

Well, that would make sense, but it doesn't because if you really wanted to say it right and cared about Japanese, you would say "ahh sore wa kawaii da!"

Now, certain words that have no english versions, like oekaki, those are okay.

Mainly, I have a problem with people saying "Hi! My name is ___-chan!"
Again, if you really cared about Japanese, you would know that adding chan to your own name is quite rude. Yes, it's cute to people who don't know better, but do you really want to be rude and overbearing?

In some extreme cases, I've even seen people pretending to write Japanese. For instance, gather a bunch of symbols they've seen or something and write them down, or get a kana chart and write them all, pretending to be writing something important. I'll use one case I found somewhere, somewhen... The person put Japanese writing all over its pic, and in the description said "Yes, that's my handwriting! It's messy isn't it!?" Because they wanted someone to think they can write Japanese. Isn't that stupid?

Does ANYONE see my point? ANYONE???
This particular topic aggravates me somewhat... So I thought I would write a journal about it...
